New model manufacturers DioramaWorld share their plans of a very interesting release for the shipwright/diorama builder!
Very recently, a News story written by Robert Blokker(FAUST) was published in the diorama section of Armorama, breaking the news of a new model manufacturing company based in Holland, known as DioramaWorld.
This new company makes resin diorama and vignette bases and accesories for the 1:35 and 54mm scale modelers. Marcel Wenzel, DioramaWorld CEO states that the goal of this company is to make good quality and affordable products in which every modeler... albeit for the beginner, intermediate or master can make very good diorama's or complement their figures and or vehicles. Also the company designs their products in such a way that it is possible to use the products for all theatres of war and can be placed in many diorama's with a great deal of possibilities in both vehicle choice and figure choice as well.
So, what does this have to do with shipbuilding, you may ask? Well here is an advance announcement from the company of a product that is on their drawing board,
the "Vietnamese Long-Boat", in 1/35 scale resin.
This is a typical Vietnamese long boat used during the Vietnam War in the Mekong Delta. It is the company's intention to release this kit in a 2 version in one kit! The first type is the boat was used by the Vietnamese army troops. The second version is the type used by the local inhabitants of the Mekong delta.
Due to the great response that the company has had with the introduction of their first few kits, the projected release of this kit will not be until December of this year, according to Marcel. He also states that the company needs to find a distributor in the USA, because this boat is especialy targeted at an American audience / VIETNAM war dioramabuilders, and most importantly because shipping cost's from the Netherlands to USA are expensive for retail customers, and defraying these cost's is one of the main concerns of Dioramaworld.
More of this company's products can be found at their official website, (with a new English Translation feature added!), by following the link above!
