Aoshima of Japan has has announced the June 2015 release of kit AOS08379, a set of “Deformation Combined Fleet” full-hull Imperial Japanese Navy ships.

These are so-called “gashapon” (capsule toys) popular in Japan depicting caricature versions of IJN warships. The ships include: Yamato 1945, Musashi 1942, Shokaku 1942, Zuikaku 1944, Atago 1941, and Takao 1944. The kits can apparently be displayed either full hull or waterline.

These goofy things are not for everyone, but what ther heck, they are still model ships!

The new set can be had for ¥2,400 (approximately US$19.30) from Hobbylink Japan.
