Pit-Road (Skywave) of Japan has has announced the July 2015 release of kit PITJB-10S, a full-hull version of the modern (1980s) diesel-electric Japanese Marine Self Defense Force submarine Yushio in 1/350 scale.

The new “JMSDF SS-573 Yushio Special” sub appears to be a re-release of a prebuilt version (PITJBM-03, now discontinued) previously released in 2012. This unassembled kit is about half the price of the prebuilt model and comes with decals to build the sub as the Yushio (SS-573), Mochisio (SS-574), Setoshio (SS-575), Okishio (SS-576), Nadashio (SS-577), Hamashio (SS-578), Akishio (SS-579), or Takeshio (SS-580).

DML issued a 1/700 version of the Yushio many years ago, but I believe this is the first model of the sub in 1/350 scale. If you missed Pit-Road’s prebuilt offering a few years ago, this reissue is your second chance!
