Following a few whispers and rumors on various forums, I've found that Revell plans to re-release it's big Gato-class World War II US submarine again late this September! If you've wanted this kit and never got hold of it or wanted to make another, your chance is coming!

Tower Hobbies (which is part of Revell's corporate family) currently lists the Gato kit for pre-ordering at $95.00 plus shipping.

Ed Sexton of Revell has informed me that they brought the kit back because of numerous requests. Due to timing and budget constraints, no changes have been made to the kit, except for a new decal sheet. Any changes to the existing kit would result in a delay of years for a re-release.

I for one am glad to see it coming back, especially with all the aftermarket products that are now available for it.
