4 Waterline kits are to be released this summer from Aoshima, starting in June and going through August. They are two carriers a, 'food' ship and a seaplane tender, all from the Second Word War.
The carriers are the HMS Ark Royal (No. 010235) in her in 1939 configuration and the IJN Chitose (No. 009512) after her light carrier conversion.

The seaplane tender is the Kimikawa-Maru (No. 009765) as she was after being refit from a cargo ship. She was able to operate 6 Aichi E13A "Jake" floatplanes. On 23 October 1944 she was sunk by the submarine USS Sawfish.

The food ship is the Mamiya (No 010372). She was originally meant to be an oil transporter but was instead outfitted to be a food supply ship. The Navy sent her to the Kawasaki Shipbuilding Yard where she was fitted with facilities for carrying enough food for 18,000 men over three weeks, and kitchens to produce large quantities of food.

All these ships are available for pre-order from Hobby Link Japan.

The releases are as follows:

June - Kimakawa-Maru ¥2,240 ($18.25 USD)

July - Mamiya ¥2,080 ($16.95 USD)

July - Chitose ¥2,240 ($18.25 USD)

August - Ark Royal ¥2,560 ($20.86 USD)

Shipping and handling to be added for each item.

Both of the auxiliary ships are very appealing. I do not recall if Ark Royal is a reissue or a new model?

From what research I did, Aoshima had a 1941 packaging but I can't tell from what images I've seen so far if there's any molding differences between that kit and this one. If there were I would have thought Aoshima would have touted that but I have not seen that yet. This is from Hobby Search of the 1941 kit. LINK
