Persian Gulf (Sept. 17, 2006) - A Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) assigned to Naval Beach Group Two launches from the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Iwo Jima recently deployed from her homeport of Norfolk, Va., and began a regularly scheduled deployment to the U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) areas of responsibility (AOR) to conduct Maritime Security Operations (MSO).
