1⁄700
Tuesday, August 25, 2015 - 12:33 AM UTC
Aoshima of Japan has announced the October 2015 release of a combination kit consisting of a 1/700 scale US Navy Aircraft Carrier Wasp & Japanese Submarine I-19.
One of the major players in the Pacific War, the Wasp (CV-7) has until now been unavailable in 1/700 scale except for an excellent, though rather expensive, resin offering from Corsair Armada. This new waterline model will offer an affordable alternative in polystyrene plastic for the first time. Most welcome!
The new flattop and sub (kit AOS01030) can be preordered for ¥3,040 (approximately US$25.36) from Hobbylink Japan. There will also be a set of dedicated photoetched parts that can be preordered now for ¥1,600 (approximately US$13.35).
