What appears to be a re-release of a Yankee ModelWorks 1/192 kit, a full or waterline option kit for the US Navy WWII destroyer USS Sims in her 1942 configuration. The sims was the lead ship of her class of 12 destroyers that served extensively during the war.
Five of the Simms class were lost in the war and of the five, four were at the hands of the Japanese and one at the hands of the Germans. The class served on Neutrality Patrols in the Atlantic in 1940-41. Most of the class was transferred to the Pacific shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor and all saw their share of combat. By 1946, all ships were either scrapped or expended during the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests.
This kit (No BRM20003) is made of resin and PE parts and is listed at Free Time Hobbies for $249.95 (US) plus shipping and handling.
