Two destroyer kit re-issues with full hull/waterline build options and new parts. One is the Shigure, an Shiratsuyu class destroyer and the other is the Kasumi (pictured in heading image), an Asashio class destroyer.

Shigure developed a reputation within the Imperial Japanese Navy for being "lucky" or "unsinkable", emerging as the sole surviving Japanese warship from numerous battles. As the flagship of Captain Tameichi Hara's Destroyer Division 27 Shigure received a prominent place in the memoirs of the only Japanese destroyer captain to survive the entire Pacific War. Shigure was torpedoed and sunk by the submarine USS Blackfin in the Gulf of Siam on 25 January 1945.
In January 1942, Kasumi escorted aircraft carriers Shokaku and Zuikaku to Truk, and onwards to Rabaul to cover landings of Japanese forces at Rabaul and Kavieng and air strikes on Lae and Salamaua. On 28 June, she was assigned to escort the aircraft carrier Chiyoda to Kiska in the Aleutian Islands on a supply mission. On 6 April 1945, Kasumi was part of the escort for the final mission of the battleship Yamato. Coming under attack by US Navy aircraft on 7 April, she lost steering control, and suffered 17 dead and 47 injured. The destroyer Fuyuzuki removed survivors, and scuttled her with two torpedoes.
Both kits (Nos SPW43 for Kasumi and SPW45 for Shigure) are listed by Pit-Road for „3,000 ($24.50).
