Mirage begins a new kit series titled 'KIT+', apparently taking previously issued kits and enhancing them photo etch parts. The first in this series is the V106 German Torpedo boat.

The V105-108 series torpedo boats were built for the Royal Dutch Navy and the outbreak of war resulted in these unfinished ships being impressed into service for the Imperial German Navy and being re-designated from the original Z1-4 to V105-108. Thus these four small vessels ended up in the Polish navy after the war the First World War. During the Second World WarI the V105 and V106 were slated for operations in the North Sea. After WWI the German fleet was assembled at Scapa Flow and Polish delegate, Roman Dmowski managed to secure Poland’s place among the countries entitled to take over a part of the German fleet. The Polish Navy obtained 6 torpedo boats, including the V105 and V108. The ships arrived in Puck under Polish flag.

Mirage has sold their torpedo boat kits in both their original German service during WWI and in Polish service during WWII. This WWI kit version (No 40028) is 15.5cm (6.1 inches) in length when completed and is comprised of 74 plastic parts and 104 PE parts. Though the kit is labeled 'V106', decal markings for boats 105 through 108 are included.
