MicroAce of Japan has announced ARIA130, a 1/600 scale version of the U.S. Navy battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) as modernized in the 1980s.
According to Hobbylink Japan, “The world's biggest U.S.Navy battleship - the New Jersey! One of the four Iowa-class battleships in existence, constructed during World War II and participating in four different wars during its 21 years of active duty. This 1/600-scale model is easy to assemble and unpainted with no decals”.

This MicroAce release kit is apparently a reissue of the Arii kit from 1994. Originally designed for motorization (you will need to supply motors and batteries), this kit has modest detail but with a bit of work can build into a nice display piece. If you are into 1/600 scale and want a modern New Jersey, this may be the kit for you.

The New Jersey can be ordered for ¥1,440 (approximately US$12.00) from Hobbylink Japan.
