If you have an interest in modeling aircraft and ships of the United States Coast Guard or just an interest in the US Coast Guard itself, this site wills suit you well. Site administrator Frank Williams is a 1975 graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy -and a modeler.
Frank describes his site like this:
I think a few of you were surprised at the array of ships and aircraft associated with the Coast Guard.
In its simplest form this website creates a database of all models that fall into any of those categories and so can be built as “Coast Guard models”. I have listed all models that exist or once existed. I gave up trying to keep track of what is in and out of production.
Beyond that the website presents:
- A summary of Coast Guard history
- A complete list of all cutters and aircraft that have served the CG through the years
- The classification schemes used for cutters and aircraft through the years
- The paint schemes used for cutters and aircraft through the years
- A list of acronyms
And a list of useful links for both modeling and history.
