Starling Models leaves the nest bringing their own line of model ship photo etch!
Mike McCabe, owner/operator of Starling Models would like to tell you about a new business he has set up in the UK offering their own line of model ship photo etch along with ship kits and accessories from various manufactures covering a wide range of scales. Since last April Mike has been producing his own range of etched parts, this is gradually growing as time allows with three new sets released last week. His aim is to produce good quality at a reasonable price, making the basic parts required to improve a ship model without too many difficult to use items.

More recently and after some discussions at the IPMS Scale Model World show in the UK last November, he has decided to take the plunge and expand the retail side of the shop to include kits and accessories made by other manufacturers. At the moment Starling Models is waiting for new orders to arrive, however, they have already stocked Trumpeter and Hobby Boss kits, Master Barrels, Orange Hobby and Lion Roar etch along with their own range of products. Over the next few days and weeks more new stock will be arriving and Starling will be stocking a range of kits and accessories from North Star, L'Arsenal, Combrig, Niko, IBG, AJM Models, 3d Modelparts and more in due course.

"There is currently something of a gap for UK ship modellers with the demise of White Ensign Models, I don't aim to replace them but certainly I hope that Starling Models can supply a service to UK ship modellers." - Mike McCabe

It's very heartening for scale modelers to see new small companies enter the market with their own products. Best of luck to Mike and all.

Thanks for the support everyone. I will be stocking some 350 accessories and smaller resin kits, but I'm not planning to do 350 plastic kits from the big companies. The fact is that there is always somebody else who will do them cheaper. Of course you can always let me know the sort of thing you are looking for and I will get some stock in.
