Now available is a full-hull, resin kit of the Second World War French cruiser Lamotte-Picquet, a Duguay-Trouin class light cruiser. At the start of the war she was patrolling the waters of French Indochina and the Dutch East Indies (today's Vietnam and Indonesia).
Launched in 1927, Lamotte-Picquet was sent to the Far East in 1935 and was their at the outbreak of war in 1939. After the French surrender in Europe, tension developed along the border with Siam (now Thailand). These flared into hostilities between Siam and Vichy France in December 1940. In January 1941, Lamotte-Picquet became the flagship of a small squadron, the Groupe Occasionnel. The group, with Lamotte-Picquet at its head, met a Thai squadron of two torpedo boats and a coastal defense ship in the Battle of Koh Chang on 14 January 1941. The Thai squadron was defeated, with both torpedo boats sunk and the coastal defense ship run aground. The Japanese forced a settlement in the Franco-Thai War in favor of the Thai and apart from a visit to Osaka, Japan in September 1941, Lamotte-Picquet was thereafter restricted in her activities. From the following month, she was used as a training ship and was sunk in harbor, on 12 January 1945, by U.S carrier based aircraft.

This kit has the option to be built as a full-hull or waterline kit and includes PE details and a full color assembly manual.

This kit is available from the Pacific Cross Roads Ebay store for $266.60 plus shipping.
