Mirage Hobby of Poland has announced the March 2016 re-release of kit 40413, the German World War Two submarine U-826 (Type VIIC/Turm IV).
Originally released in the late 1990s, Mirage’s 1/400 scale U-Boats were remarkable for the time, nicely detailed and very affordable. They have since been overshadowed by even better U-Boat releases in the more popular (at least in the U.S. and Japan) scale of 1/350, but they are still nice little kits, and they remain affordable.

The U-826 (VIIC/T4) can be ordered for ¥1,170 (approximately US$10.00) from Hobbylink Japan. http://www.hlj.com/product/MIR40413/Nav

In addition, Mirage released separate specialized brass photoetch sets for each of the U-Boats. These can be a little hard to find now, but I found the set for this particular sub is at Freetime Hobbies at http://freetimehobbies.com/1-400-mirage-u-boot-type-viic-4-detail-set/ for about US10.00.

With the separately available brass upgrade set, this little sub can build into a model as good as any of the newer 1/350 U-Boats out there.
