Aoshima of Japan has announced the September 2016 release of kit AOS01239, the Imperial Japanese Navy light aircraft carrier Ryujo as she appeared at the time of her destruction during the Battle of the Eastern Solomons.
This kit is an updated version to replace Fujimi’s 1970s Water Line Series rendition of the Ryujo which, although reasonable for the time, is by today’s standards rather inaccurate and a little plain in detail. This new release has sharp, dense details similar to the ships in the Skywave/Pit Road series.
Aoshima’s aircraft carrier Ryujo can be preordered from Hobbylink Japan at http://hlj.com/product/AOS01239/Nav
for ¥2,240 (about US$22.00)
