Mark 1 Models has announced the August 2016 release of three versions of World War One German Imperial Navy P-Class airships in 1/720 scale.
Each of these kits contains identical plastic with different markings to represent the individual Navy (and Army) airships:

MKM720-01 Zeppelin LZ38/LZ40 "First Attackers")
MKM720-02 Zeppelin LZ47 "Spotted Cow"
MKM720-03 Zeppelin LZ45/LZ58 "Naval Raiders"

Now you can build something to display with your Revell 1/720 Hindenburg!

These new ships are listed by Hobbylink Japan at http://hlj.com/product/MKM72001/Air, http://hlj.com/product/MKM72002/Air, and http://hlj.com/product/MKM72003/Air at ¥2,790 (about US$26.00) each.

Well, certainly can't complain of over-engineering, or high parts count! Why 1/720 instead of 1/700? I know the difference is negligible, but still...

That gets me too! Even though the difference on the Zeppelin models from 1/720 to 1/700 comes to only about a quarter of an inch, why not just go with the much more common scale of 1/700? I suppose they wanted to match it up with the old Revell and Italeri 1/720 World War Two ships from the 1970s.

My thoughts also, odd to choose 1/720 perhaps a 1/700 Zeppelin is too long for the box Did Revell or Italeri do WWI ships?

Are there 2 zepp's per kit? Or just alternate markings for 2? $26 seems to be a bit steep for a dozen parts for one.
