"The Cadillac of Boats" as promoted by its manufacturer, the Century Coronado only number about 20 today. The sliding hardtop was a prominent feature for the craft.
The boat was designed by the same designer of the 1957 Hudson, Richard Arbib and the 1959 version was the flagship of the Century Boat line with sales topping that of legendary boat maker Chris-Craft. If you're looking for a diversion from the vessels of the age of sail or the titan battle-wagons of the world wars (perhaps something to compliment your 1959 Ford Thunderbird kit), here's something that may interest you.

The kit (No HL221) features a working sliding hardtop, display stand and removable engine cover.

Lindberg is re-releasing their kit of this classic boat this month. HobbyLinc has this kit listed for pre-order for $18.99 (US) plus shipping.

I've seen this model at r/c sites and it is supposed to be a neat model.

I like the removable engine cover and sliding hardtop! The engine compartment could be a super-detailer's paradise!
