Pit-Road re-released their 1/700 scale Japanese Navy special transport vessel Aikoku Maru 1944 - New Parts - December, 2016

· Plastic model kit (unassembled / unpainted)
· Sea / full hull model can be selected at the time of production · From 1930 's, Japan was encouraged to build a high-speed merchant ship based on military use. Some of these ships were renovated as a special cruiser and used for trade destroy. Patriot Maru was completed on August 31, 1941 with the same type of Rep. Maru Maru, Etsuko Maru built by Osaka merchant ship. It was recruited by the Navy the following day, and organized the Rep. Maru and the 24th Squadron, engaged in the Indian Ocean trade destruction strategy. Then, in October 1943, he transferred to a special transport ship and was sunk by the bombing of a US military aircraft off the coast of Dupron Island on February 17, 1944.
