Fairy Kikaku models of Japan has announced the release of Chinese Navy warships in 1/700 scale.
This set of resin model kits contains parts to build two Chinese ships from 1937.

They are listed by Hobbylink Japan at http://hlj.com/product/FIRS021 and can be ordered for ¥2,000 (about US$18.00).

Are those hulls divided in half at the middle??

They are - a strange casting choice, to say the least!

Now these castings do not look as rough as some of their others. They may cast them in half like this because they are using a low-tech casting system or resin that would warp a full length hull. My MB 1/350 USS Houston hull is 4 pieces - upper/lower front, upper/lower stern; MB improved and later editions had 2-piece hulls: front and rear.
