Is it just me or does that first picture make it look like a toy boat for the bath tub?

Yep. You have to imagine it haze gray.

It's not just you Roger. Although I've been told I have a vivid imagination, I'm afraid it's not that vivid. All I see is a gray bathtub toy.

A big (and probably very expensive) toy yes -a feeling even more sharpened by the fact the figs on the boat seem typically Verlinden -which means "lousy " in my book..

Most 30's-40's "tuboats" have more graceful lines than that "thing". I agree -- bath tub toy. Don't get me wrong here...I like most everything that Verlinden does. This just isn't one of them. The deck just seems to flat at the bow...it has no "style" that alot of the older tugs of that era had. Revell got it right and so did Lindberg.

It certainly looks a bit small to be a harbour tug-boat. Definately not the type that moved battleships, cruisers and carriers around.

Let me play devil's advocate here. I could be that it is a small river tug. It does say that in the description. I know that the tugs I'm use to seeing here look nothing like some of the ones I've seen in larger ports.
