Mike Ashey continues his Comprehensive Series Manuals with his third addition which dive deep into the construction and finishing of Hobby Boss' 1/350 scale USS Alaska. Previous Manuals from Mike Ashey Publishing include Building & Detailing The Trumpeter 1/350 Scale USS North Carolina, BB-55 and Building And Detailing Trumpeter’s 1/350 Scale USS Franklin, CV-13, both of which have been reviewed right here on Model Shipwrights.

Attached are a few pictures of Mike’s 1/350 scale Hobby Boss USS Alaska project. We are hoping to have a comprehensive series manual on this model after the first of the new year. There is a lot of photoetch detail associated with this kit that would normally be done in plastic and it is taking a lot of time to determine the best construction method that can be easily duplicated.
