Very Fire releases a 1/350 scale upgrade set for their USS Missouri kit!
USS MISSOURI (BB-63)

Born in the midst of World War II, the shipyard workers at Brooklyn’s New York Navy Yard constructed the battleship in time for her launch on January 29, 1944 and commissioned as the USS Missouri on June 11, 1944 with Capt. William M. Callaghan in command.

The USS Missouri was the third U.S. Navy ship to be named after the Show Me state and the fourth American warship* to bear the name - there was a Confederate Missouri that was captured by Union forces during the Civil War but never commissioned as a United States Ship (USS). Today, a Virginia - class submarine, USS Missouri (SSN-780) has the honor of being the fourth USS Missouri and carrying the Missouri legacy into the future.

USS Missouri’s as-built design characteristics include: displacement 45,000; length 887'3"; beam 108'2"; draft 28'11"; speed 33 knots; complement 1,921; armament nine 16-inch, twenty 5-inch, eighty 40 millimeter, forty-nine 20 millimeter; class Iowa.

Very Fire Models takes another step towards busting into the 1/350 scale model ship market with their future release of the 1/350 USS Missouri Upgrade Set.

Scheduled to be released in May 2018, Very Fire announces their newest addition to the 1/350 scale model ship line with the release of the 1/350 USS Missouri Upgrade Set.

This kit will replace the three sheets of Photo Etch that are currently is currently contained in their 1/350 USS Missouri Kit (an in box review can be seen on this site at (https://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/review/13792).

This newest upgrade set contains 10 sheets of photo etch, wooden deck, 9 x 16" main gun barrels, 20 x 5" gun barrels, 80 x 40mm bofors barrels, 29 x 20mm Oerlikon barrels, turned brass masts, and flagpoles along with a ton of resin upgrade parts such as cockpits for the SC-1 Scout plane, MK51 directors, life rafts, etc...

On face value of the pictures the upgrade set looks to be on par with Pontos and Flyhawk Super Detail sets.

Definitely gives the ship model builder another great option to improve on the detail of their builds.
