BlueJacket Shipcrafters is offering a free Classic Warships book on ARLEIGH BURKE with orders for its upcoming 1/192 scale kit placed by 12/31/07
BlueJacket is proud to announce that our newest kit, in development, is the USS ARLEIGH BURKE, DDG-51. The anticipated release date of this kit is Spring, 2008. If you are interested in following the progress of the development of this kit, please refer to HERE!
ARLEIGH BURKE is the class leader of our navy’s guided missile destroyer fleet. One of her major innovations is the sophisticated AEGIS radar system. She features a stealthy, modern silhouette and is considered a break-through design.
BlueJacket’s kit is being designed by Dr. Al Ross, with a carved, laminated wood hull, and will feature multi-media materials in the manner of our most recent kits.
Built at the Bath Iron Works, Bath, ME, DDG-51 is 504’ 7” LOA. Our kit will be scaled to 1/16”=1’ (1:192), yielding a model 31.5.”
