Smer has announced the release of U.S.S. Bonhomme Richard 1779 in 1/500 scale.

Yet another re-release of Pyro’s Bonhomme Richard from the 1960s, this familiar rendition of John Paul Jones’ ship has been marketed over the years by Pyro, Life-Like, Heller, Lindberg, and probably others. I remember building the Pyro version of this kit my dad bought for me at the San Francisco Maritime Museum back in the 1960s. The detail may be a little heavy, but it is a simple, easy to build kit ideal for beginning modelers.
