Is the upcoming 1/350 IJN Akagi just not big enough for you? Or would you rather build the largest aircraft carrier from World War II in 1/144? Soar Art Workshop is back with more very large scale offerings in the way of a 1/144 IJN Akagi and 1/144 IJN Shinano. Details are very sketchy as to what you get with these big flattops, but compared to what Soar Art has already shown us, we won’t be disappointed. More information to come as it is released.

I can’t repeat my original words. These guys are getting serious about building BIG ships. Not only do you get to build a very impressive ship, but then you get to build the full air wing!

I have to ask are these NEW plastic / resin kits like the new Bismarck for the hobbyist to assemble or the existing high priced custom resin display models that they have offered for several years? Will one be able to build these new releases for RC use? I have been in contact in the past with Soar Art & their existing models are designed for display use only & not suitable for RC conversion. A plastic hull of this size, unless offered in sections, would be extremely expensive to tool & best done in FRP. Certainly I would expect the upper detail parts would be same as they use on their existing display models. If these are kits, at this rate, am certain Akizuki should not be too far behind. Any clarification you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks. Chuck
