BearAir has always sought to bring the airbrush user the best price on quality airbrushes. This rings true with their latest offering, The Disposables. No, this is not a one use brush. The Disposables is a family of double action airbrushes that meet the needs of the average airbrush user. Also, BearAir touts that the new Disposables will be priced at or below the cost of a quality single action brush. So, what does this mean for the model builder?

Let’s face it. Buying and using an airbrush for the first time can be a little intimidating, especially when it comes to a quality double action brush. This line helps ease the pressure while giving the modeler a sense of confidence. Now, don let the “Disposable” name fool you. With proper cleaning, this airbrush can give you years of satisfaction. Think of these airbrushes as an entry level double action brush. It’s good for someone who wants to move up to the feel and performance of a double action, whether it be a veteran builder or that junior modeler who has mastered the single action airbrush. It’s also good for the master airbrush artist who wants a second brush for quick color changes. Prices range from $24.00 to $45.00.

Strange name, but interestingly priced. For under 50 smackers, I just may pick one up and give it a try.

I think two of the most intriguing aspects are the lock down for paint flow and something that looks a LOT like Iwata's MAC valve on the front for air control. I love my Iwatas and will never give them up, but if these work half as well, I'll recommend them to folks who are new to airbrushing.

Bruce - I did not order mine from BearAir but when I did my AB research last year it came at the top of the list, along with Air Brush Depot and Dixie Art. Dont forget you need an air source as you budget your first AB, they usually offer "bundles'. Also ,depends on your living/hobby bench location and conditions, you may need/want to have a vent/fume hood or at least a respirator. I got a single action Paasche which Im using now, and a double action Iwata that I have not tried yet (learning with the single action first). This thread is part of an AB discussion and has a bunch of links with even more info. Hope this helps!

Ahoy mates! I received my The Disposables HV-CH Airbrush yesterday. Here are my first impressions: This brush is very well constructed and in my opinion not "disposable". The movement of the needle was as smooth as my Iwata Revolution. It also has the same weight as an Iwata or similar airbrush. While I did not have time to put paint through it, I did hook it up to the compressor and played with it with just air going through it. The small air control valve located under the paint cup allows you to dial down the pressure to zero, so the relatively high recommended 20 psi shouldn't take away from the performance. First impressions is that there is a lot of bang for the buck. I'll shoot some paint through it this weekend and do a full review for the site. Bear Air's The Disposables HV-CH Iwata's CM-C Plus
