Building on their ever expanding range of 1/350 ships Aoshima have announced the release of the 1/350 IJN Transporter Nippon Maru. This kit is available now and the retail price is 3,008 yen.
This brand new model of the Nippon Maru includes a finely detailed hull and rigging. The kitset also includes a split hull which allows completion as either a full-hull or waterline model. The completed model will measure 27.6 cm long when fully completed.

Ship History.
Built of steel in Kobe in 1930 the Nippon Maru was to be used as a schoolship for the Japanese merchant marine. She was rigged as a four-masted barque carrying royals over double top and top gallant sails. Known as the "Swan on the Pacific” she participated in the famous parade of tall ships on New York's Hudson River in 1976. The Nippon Maru now serves as a floating museum in Yokohama, Japan.

- Thread for rigging;
- Display stand;
- Full-hull or waterline;
- Photoetch fret of detail parts for the shrouds and handrails.
