Another manufacturer is adding a 1/700th resin pre-dreadnought to its range, Yumematsu are releasing a 1/700th Hoche (1891) French battleship . Join me in viewing the preliminary shots of this kitset.
This is no doubt an exciting development for all lovers of the pre-dreadnought battleship era.
The date of release and price are yet to be announced.
Watch out for a further update on this set as more information comes to hand.

Ship History.
The Hoche was an early battleship of the French Navy. Built as the third unit of her class she had a unique design which combined turret and barbette guns. The Hoche was built at Lorient and laid down in June 1881 launched September 1886, and finally completed in 1890.
She was given the nickname of "Grand Hotel" due to her towering superstructure.
In 1892, off Marseilles, Hoche collided with the steamer Maréchal Canrobert which sank with the loss of 107 lives.
The ship suffered from poor stability and in 1898 she went in for major alterations to the superstructure and also at the same time she was re boilered. with 16 Belleville boilers and VTE engines.
She was sunk as practice target by the Jauréguiberry and the Pothuau on the 2nd of December 1913.
