This new "scale modelers resource library", developed by modeler/author, Mike Ashey, solidifies my conception of just what this hobby is all about...just as our KitMaker slogan states, sharing, learning, teaching... Mike is doing the same with his works, for the entire modeling community.

On this new site Mike is turning his entire life's work of publications into .pdf files, all available in a free, downloadable format!

Mike states in his site's introduction:
"As you will soon discover there is a lot of information on this web site and it is all dedicated to the hobby of scale modeling. In all the books and articles that I have written over the past 20 years, I have strived to present tips and teach techniques for building better scale models through step by step pictures and well written text.

The contents of this web site contains information in an electronic media which is designed and formatted to be viewed right from your work bench or you can download and print the information for future use.

All of the resources in the library are formatted in Adobe PDF file format so that they can be easily viewed, downloaded and printed."

This new site is a work in progress, and Mike is working constantly to add information to the website as he converts his works to .pdf files.

Currently, in the library index, topic headings are as follows:

1.) Mike's Scale Modeling Books
2.) Scale Modeling Projects
3.) Mike's Scale Modeling Tips
4.) Reviews
5.) Scale Modeling Library

There is also a "What's New" link where Mike will announce all of the latest additions to the site, as he makes them.

In the coming months, this new site will become an extremely valuable reference tool for all modelers, in all genres, in a completely free format...practically unheard of in this day and age...

This is fantastic for the ship modeling community. I have worn out the pages of my two ship modeling books by Mike. When someone asks me, where did I learn about scratch building, I tell them Mike Ashley's two books on ship modeling. Thanks, Mike for helping me to get started in scratch building ships!!
