You will recall the exciting news from February 2009 that Creative Models Australia, along with SAB Products, are now developing a full conversion kit to radio control the Italeri Schnelboot S-100.

HOT UPDATE

There has been further progress and confirmation of the kitset details.

The kit will come with at least the following:

Kit features:

  • 3 x 383 motors;
  • 3 x 383 motor mounts;
  • 3 x 4mm shafts and tubes;
  • 3 x 40mm left and right handed 3 bladed brass props;
  • Single and triple rudder options, complete with tiller arms, linkages, fittings and pushrods;
  • Deck attachments and seals;
  • A new rudder panel;
  • A Frames and shaft cowls moulded in one piece resin;
  • instructions.

The sea trial ares we understand at an advanced stage with Creative Models Australia, have undertaken trials, using only 2 x 383 motors, shafts and props, and we understand and I quote “she FLIES!!!!!! “.

At present final work is now being done on rudder response and action.

At this stage a final RRP has not yet been established by Creative Models Australia, however they are still taking expressions of interest from modellers that would be interested in this kit.

Please contact Creative Models Australia directly making sure you mention modelshipwrights or post something right here, so that Creative Models Australia can gauge the interest and numbers needed for production.

Hi Iran I followed up as promised and here is the latest news: I understand that Creative Models have got their moulds and have done some trial mouldings. The moulds have now been readjusted to get a new finished production mould done. They have also had some new tillers arms designed and manufactured. In essence the kit is almost completed with the exception of the instructions. I understand from Creative Models that it won’t be too much longer before they go into production. I hope this is useful to you. Cheers Sean
