John R Haynes from John R Haynes Fine Ship Models has called by the news desk and kindly supplied us with images of his latest project the 1/96 thUSN Destroyer Escort.
These images show this project prior to paint.
I can confess it is very rare that this news reporter is short of words however on this occasion the images simply speak for themselves. Descriptive words such as “sublime”, “stunning” “awesome” “outstanding” amongst many others all come to this news reporters mind.
On this occasion indeed "a picture speaks a thousand words".
It is easy to see from these images why as I have previously stated John Haynes is considered to be Britain's leading professional maker of model ships.
We understand that his hulls are made from glass fibre with metal-plated timber to simulate the decks. Many of the tiny fittings such as staircases and stanchions are photo-etched.
It is important to note that many of the fittings see you here John R Haynes has developed and successfully used on this project are for sale to the modelshipwright in John’s online shop.
A very special thanks to the extremely talented Mr. John R Haynes for sharing this project with us.
Oh and yes of course John is available for commission work.
