Continuing to expand their naval titles, Osprey has announced the upcoming release of British Dreadnought vs German Dreadnought and U-boat Tactics in World War II. Both of these titles cover what is arguably two of the most important battles of the twentieth century, Jutland and the Battle of the Atlantic.
In British Dreadnought vs German Dreadnought, Jutland 1916, author Mark Stille discusses how the differences in crew training and weapon systems in the British and German fleets had a heavy influence on the outcome of the battle of Jutland. Mr. Stille also analyzes the final outcome of the battle by explaining the successes and failures of the German and British dreadnoughts.
British Dreadnought vs German Dreadnought, Jutland 1916 is set to be released to the public October of 2010 at a cost of $17.95 USD.
Osprey’s next October release is U-boat Tactics in World War II. Here, author Gordon Williamson takes an in depth look at the tactics of these silent hunters as they dominated the shipping lanes in the early part of the war as well as the change in strategy to a defensive posture that came because of the Allies’ cracking of the Enigma code. The author discusses surface and submerged warfare as well as the lone hunters and the wolf packs.
U-boat Tactics in World War II is set to retail for $18.95 USD when it comes out in October.
