You may recall the esteemed Mr. Jim Rae’s news story of the 19th of June 2008 that Master Box Ltd were in the “WIP” stage of developing their Women at War: US Navy Waves set.

This set has been completed and its subsequent release slipped totally under this news editors radar nevertheless I thought it was still valuable even at this late stage for all the modelshipwrights on this forum to be reminded of its release and existence.

This set really looks great as it comprises of two US Navy Waves together with a US Lieutenant Officer and a US Ordinary Sailor - plus you get a parakeet and a monkey exact species of the later two is unknown!

All in 1/35th scale and in plastic.

I think Master Box Ltd should be applauded for issuing something very unique and will no doubt be something which be useful to many modelshipwrights.

With the number of 1/35th scale kitset subjects coming out these figures maybe just perfect for your current or next US Navy project.

The current details are outlined below:

Women at War: US Navy Waves
Manufacturer: Masterbox

Regular Price: Approx. US$9.99

New?!? This set has been out for in excess of 6 months already. I found a link to a review of this set on my site going back to January 2010: http://figure135.blogspot.com/2010/01/review-master-box-ltd-woman-at-war-us.html

Well, as Sean's story states.... "This set has been completed and its subsequent release slipped totally under this news editors radar, nevertheless I thought it was still valuable even at this late stage for all the modelshipwrights on this forum to be reminded of its release and existence."

No need to bold text me, Mark. Sorry guys, but I just don't think something more than 6 months old is news worthy. My opinion. Use it... or most likely not. In any case, perhaps the review is useful to your readers.

I like bold text...it's very...bold.... As far as being newsworthy, you, as anyone else, are entitled to your opinion, Rudi...just as Sean is entitled to run any news that he sees fit, albeit old news, or new news...could definitely be news to somebody!...and again, I believe that his poignant statement sums it all up in a nutshell. Thanks for the review link, as well...definitely useful!

I don't think we're going to agree on this, but hey, you're the ME, see fit to run what you want. Glad you found the link useful, pity there's no review of the same on a Kitmaker site as well. Last petty thing... No: Rudi (a pet peeve since my name spelling is shown above - nothing personal meant to you, as it's annoys the crap out of me at work as well where my name is clearly represented on cards, phone lists, documents and email signatures)

Hell no, that's what makes us humans, mate....this sort of discussion has been hashed before, and most of the members all agree, that no matter how old a news announcement is, it still could be news to somebody, so we run it all! (re-run's of 60 Minutes come to mind... ) I too would like to see a KitMaker review, alas, nothing yet...maybe this thread will spawn something! No: Rudi (a pet peeve since my name spelling is shown above - nothing personal meant to you, as it's annoys the crap out of me at work as well where my name is clearly represented on cards, phone lists, documents and email signatures)[/quote] Sorry bro, post edited, and duly noted....I've got a nephew named Rudy...hard habit to break! Cheers, ~Gunny
