Plastic injection kits of WW1 naval subjects, are unfortunately about as rare as teeth on hens...With one of their new releases, ICM are going a long way in helping to rectify the situation....
Two new warship releases have been announced by ICM, one in 1/350th scale (sensibly enough!) and the other in 1/144th scale...

Dealing with the latter first,

S.004 is a 1/144th Scale, TYPE XXIII, German Submarine.

The type XXIII, were first deployed from June 1944, with a change in German fortunes, the regime was in retreat across every front, and a need was perceived for a more defensive submarine, hence the idea for the 'Coastal Submarine' was mooted. Over 1000 examples of the Type XXIII were envisaged, in the end only 63 were completed. Curiously enough, the Type XXIII, became the first Class of Submarine to serve in the re-constituted German Navy.

The 1/144th scale kit, consists of only one sprue, and should be available now.

Also announced on ICM's Website, is
S.005. A 1/350th Scale kit of a 'Konig-Class' Battleship, in particular the K.M.S. Markgraf.

The kit contains 7 sprues along with the hull sections. The kit is full-hull, whether it can be built 'waterline' I have no information at this time. An attractive subject and one that I hope ICM will continue. There is certainly no shortage of future subjects...
