U-Models, from France, is a new brand of resin Figurines and other 1/35 Midget Submarines and K-Verband related gear.
These well researched and beautifully sculpted figurines will enhance your displays.

As a Midget Submarine enthusiast, I have been able to collect and (almost) built a collection of these strange machines.
Most of the models do not include a crew member or a figurine to go with it and give the sense of scale so needed in this particular area.
I heard on one exhibition, where one of my models was present, a couple saying to eachother "Poor guy! He did a good job in painting and weathering and then he spoiled everything with that terrible out of scale figurine!" - the Model was Verlinden's X-Craft Diorama!

This introductions has a point: not to make a terrible advertise of my models, but to make a relationship with the manuafactures goal:
Make those models more lively with it's crews and other fittings.
U-Models is a French manufacturer owned by a modeler who share the same interest in Midget Subs and Manned Torpedoes.

He had the courage to embark on this adventure and created what he thought was missing in this market area.
The actual listing of products include the following items:

35001- "Human Torpedo pilot n°1"
35002 - "Human Torpedo pilot n°2" for Neger/Marder
35003 - "Kriegsmarine life jackets"

On the U-Models web site www.umodels.fr.fm/ you can take a look at these new items, with about 30 (!!) new items to be released early in 2005!

I have ordered the first two references and I intend to make a build/painting review, taking advantage and incentive with the "Dive! Dive! Dive!" Campaign, starting in December 15th.

I highly recommend these items to anyone familiar with the Verlinden, Ironside and JF-Models manned torpedoes.
