The Type XXIII U-boat was first launched on April 17, 1944, with a total of 61 by wars end. None of the Type XXIII where sunk by the allies. The last two ships to be sunk by the DKM, were sunk by U-2336 on May 7, 1945

The DKM Type XXIII U-Boat kit consists of three sprues with a total of thirty-four plastic parts. Some of which are not used depending on which of the three subs you are planning on constructing. The separate conning towers are provided in the kit for U-2322, U-2326 and U-2360.
Conclusion
This is a great little kit. No photo etch or decals are provided with the kit. The ladder needed on the front of the coning tower can be made from brass rod.
