LionRoar offers a super detailed set that will transform the Hasegawa 350th Mikasa into a show winner. Nine sets of photo-etch and anchor chain and turned barrels for not only the four main 12” guns, but also the fourteen QF 6” secondary guns.

What sets this detail set apart are the turned secondary barrels, to my knowledge, it is the only photo-etch update set that offers the 6” QF guns in brass. Railings have been cut to fit, saving the modeler the tedious task of measuring out sections of railings.

Perforated walkways with built in supports, inclined ladders, net shelves, life boat supports and rudders, a complete redo for both the fore and aft bridges and a comprehensive set of superstructure supports. Extensive reworking for the funnels and supports for the masts is all included.

A very clear five page instruction sheet package is included, minimizing the potential for error. Two colour photographs are given, showing the full effect of the upgrade set prior to painting. This set is expensive, but a must for any serious modeler wishing to upgrade the already superb model of the Hasegawa IJN Mikasa. At $105 CDN, twice the price of the model, it is not a set for the fiscally minded.
