Hi Harry

I am sorry to hear that you are dropping the Campaign, but on the other hand, the business is going well!
Better for this reason than for other thing more serious

Hi All,

Sorry, but I am going to drop out of this Campaign. I just do not have the time to build a ship.
I have been pouring resin 10/7.
BTW, thanks for all the ships you have purchased!!

Ahoy, H!

I know that you've been up to your uh, ears ( ) in resin, trying to keep up with the orders, mate, and as Rui said, that is a good thing, but unfortunately has also cut into the bench time...I'll keep an eye on the campaign in your interim, mate, and make sure that all is going along well with it...give me a call when you pull yourself away from the pressure pots!

Cheers,
Mark

Well, Bruce, a campaign entry is "done" when it is done, if you know what I mean...

Basically, when you feel that your entry is as complete as you see fit, (and I don't mean 75% finished, without paint, etc.), you can call it a wrap...rigging is not necessary on any build entry, although the addition of does greatly enhance the overall look, and realism of the build...so if your ship is built, painted, decaled, and ready for display sans rigging, then it can be noted as a "finished" build... keep in mind that this campaign stretches to the first of May, and so far no-one has brought up the need for an extension, so there is lots of time left to fiddle with your ratlines...up to you...hope this helps, mate!

nice job Bruce... are you far or near sighted? If you are near-sighted like me, take your glasses off, gives you a 10x magnification as long as the stuff is close to your face, just dont lope off your nose with the Xcto blade

PS. I think your Dig Cam is focusing BEHIND the ship? I have had that problem in the past, sometimes you need to move the aiming point around so it focuses in front of the model
cheers! James

PSS I will email you that PT color info tomorrow!

Hey Bruce, I do most of my modelling with my glasses off, does make a difference for me as funny as that sounds.

I have been trying to contract out the Dig Cam picture taking to my daughter, who seems to know how to use every feature. And PT email sent Cheers, James

I am planning an entry into this campaign. Probably a German assault boat or a raft used to ferry Infantry and vehicles across rivers.

I will let you know.

I am going to join this campaign a little late with an improvised raft. After first having posted this in the wrong tread, I will now post it here. My raft did not qualify as a torpedo boat

The Germans used them in WWII to ferry troops and equipment across rivers untill improvised bridges were finished. The below picture was used as inspiration.

I am doing a crude and smaller example used during the invasion of Yugoslavia in early 1941. It will be used to ferry a Sd. Kfz. 223 from the "Gross Deutschland" division across a small river. It was hastily rigged as Gross deutschland division was in a race to reach Belgrade before the SS. The SS won the race and made the city surrender with a small recce company.

I am making it from balsa wood and oil drums. It will carry the GD Sd.Kfz. 223 German recon car and possibly some troops.

Below is the first stage. Next is painting, water creation and finding some suitable troops for the raft.

More to follow

Things have progressed a little further with my raft. The AFV that I was planning to add to the raft looked too big when I tried to add the hull parts. I have not made the model yet and I think I underestimated the size of the model. So instead I have added a load of various supplies.

I am also half way with the figure of the trooper pushing the load across a river. The figure needs some more washes and some highlights.

The water looks very green in the pictures, but that is because the resin has not dried up yet. It will be much darker and semi transparent when dry.

More to follow....

Nice progress, Jesper!

An interesting story line as well, one which is most important in any dio or vignette, IMO...thanks for the update!

Cheers,
Gunny
