Small progress on the Violet yesterday,
20mm tubs painted.
Rear bridge supports test fitted.
The bridge supports in their correct position and the bridge fitted.
getting the ready use clips for the 4" rounds down, a real fiddly job.
Going up to the bench shortly, so may be an update later or tomorrow.
Cheers
Si

The 20mm, I am using Master's pieces.
Six pedestals stuck into a handy bit of blue tack, and the mouns assembled to the shield. I find that easier to do with the shields still on the fret.
Some North star Bridge gear painted ready for fitting to fairly basic corvette bridge.
shields mounted on the pedestals, the holes in the mounts are too small for the stubs on the pedastals, so a good gel superglue is advisable.
Bridge detail fitted, including a couple of ready use lockers for the 20mm.
one barrel frame folded and fitted, five more to go.
Have got almost half way round the 4" platform with the ready use clips, forgot to photo that.
More soon,
Si

Hi Si,
somehow I missed your progress on Violet...good luck with the good old Master Oerlikons - still the best around, if you ask me. Though a little bit fiddly to build.
I definitiv agree with Russ, she's cute indeed! Really a fine boat!!
Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan,
as I said to Russ, I think she is too.
I agree the master 20's are fiddly, I have had failures with them before, but I am taking them slowly, and six is a nice number, enough to get used to them and not too many to make them tedious.
wish me luck!
Cheers

Very nice, Si! Now that really brings your cute flower to life!!
Very nice work on the Oerlikons, good you lost only one apparently during the process that's quite a good turnout!
The detail work on the 4" platform is amazing!!
Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan,
Quite pleased with that, mind haven' quite got the hang of the Master 20mm yet.
I can only do about four or five clips in one go, then I go cross eyed. The thing is I need to get the gun platform down to fit the rest of the foredeck detail, h well I will get there.
Cheers

Hi Clive,
Have had a read of your website, very interesting and some excellent photos, quite a few details filled in too, thank you.
Today's progress.
six microscopic triangles added to the breakwater, whilst it is still on the fret.
Breakwater and other fo'c's'le details going down.
Boats and cradles under way.
Boats painted and fitted, rudders will be fitted, along with some oars once the tie downs for the boats are done.
Cheers

the level of detail you're adding here Si is fantastic!
Finally back from holidays and getting the chance to finish off catching up on all that's been happening here on MSW!
Sure have missed a lot!

Si,
I can only second what Russ said - awesome level of detail!! Just the ammo racks inside the 4" platform...wow!
Fantastic little build, and the camouflage makes it stand out, too! Just love the colors!
Cheers,
Jan
