Building an A/B Waterbase for Your Ship Models
Some final remarks:
-You can paint the light diffuser sheet at any step in the procedure. I usually base paint them both sides, using whites/ lighter colors for the boundary areas, waves and stern wakes.
-Little to very large asymmetries on opposite sides of the base adds an additional design element to the base that appeals to me.
Now you can probably build an A/B waterline base by yourself. I have tried to present here not only the basics, but also significant details that make this procedure a simpler one.
