Glad to see you guys thinking out of the box. For more ideas on sisters, try these sites:
Bismarck Class Covers several classes of ships.
Combined Fleet Excellent site on the IJN. Also gives day-to-day movements of ships.

Well after some careful thought I've narrowed it down to 4 sisters.
Bismarck class - Tirpitz 1944
Baltimore class - USS Pittsburgh 1944
Capitani Romani class - RM Scipione Africano 1943
Orion class - HMS Conqueror 1912
I think the Italian light cruiser may win this

I am leaning to doing one of the 350 scale expected cruisers. Either the Atago for the Takao or the Tuscaloosa for the San Francsco. I thought about doing the Maya but read that after 1942 she and the Chokai received different upgrades than the Takao and Atago did

I'd love to participate in the campaign since I'd already planned to build a 1/350 scale Fletcher converted to a "square" bridge design.
But I'm wondering whether a ship from a class as big as the Fletcher class would meet the qualifications of a "forgotten sister" The examples of Tirpitz to Bismark and Pennsylvania to Arizona seem much more appropriate since the class is so small and one ship gets all the press.
If it's within the guidelines, count me in.

Tom,
It shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just pick a ship that wasn't the name sake of the class and that will do the trick. Remember the campaign won't start untill Jan 08 so you might have to get a kit to tide you over untill then.

Tom;
I don't know if you were aware of this, but Trumpeter released a square bridge Fletcher class in 350 scale....The Sullivans. It runs around $25 at great Models. may be easier and cheaper in the long run just to do it rather than all that scratching out work. Of course I know you love those challenges.
OFF TOPIC: Does Citadel room there knobs / classes like we do ..by floor. or like West Point...company

Story of my life. The kit came out AFTER I'd purchased the square bridge conversion kit! So, as you said, I'm off on "the path less chosen"

I'm not sure how they do things down in Charleston. (But then again, why should I care how THEY do things?

I'll take a look down in my basement to see if I still have anything left in my stash...........

(Yup, although it appears I'm down to my last 20-30!!)
Just finished a Leopard 2A5 (photos in the gallery) and I may start one of the MANY armor kits on my list until it's time to lay the keel for this build!
