Alright!

You know, I forgot that I have the 1/350 O'Brien in the stash. I may do that. She wasn't armed (I don't think).

Edit: She was. Oh well. I do like the look of the Smit Houston though.

Hi All

Harry got a great idea - and it's good to see that this campaign got the support of the crew - being a unusual theme - it's a good chance to use all those colourfull tinlets you have laying around
Congrats Harry! This will be a sucessful Campaign!!!

Kenny, why don't you make a civil use Liberty Ship? They were used till the 80's (in some countries) and with little changes from the WWII fit... you have a lot of colourfull choices there!

Cheers,
Skipper

Doh! Thanks Skipper. An idea just hit me. I can do the MS Ergenstrasse from the movie The Sea Chase. Does anyone know where I can get PE letters for the hull?

Happy gator dance.

Edit: May need to use Revell's old C-2 Freighter for this one.

As I said earlier, I have the 1200 scale AIDA...some fancy cruise liner for now. Come campaign time I may change my mind and do somethiing like that old SS Savannah kit from Revell. I saw her at Bremerhaven in the summer of 64...the first nuclear powered civilian ship

Would a DUKW count. It is an amphib, and not all of them were fitted with weapons. Thought to do one up like the have at tourist attractions if I can get a picture of seating arrangement for the passengers.

Since you are under Jim Bauman's supervision, don't worry - we have our own place
Most friendly and cosy and we are regulars :-)

It's always a pleasure to revisit this little gems!!

I have already three ideas Harry
- One on the ice;
- One on a beach
- another without dio
and the scale is... 1/700 (yes, I am fully (almost) converted to this small scale!!!)

Since I am a TERRIBLY SLOW WORKER, I have to choose only one - to secure my success in finishing this highly interesting Campaign

Time will tell

Harry I hope a water cannon doesn't count as a gun as I have just noticed my intended build for the campaign has one for putting out fires.

Rui, I will be bringing along with me to Telford, some resin Ice Flows(actually they look pretty "cool").

Luciano, nice choice, as long as it does not shoot cannon balls.

Actually I discovered a nice way to make the ice pack and some bigger floaters by accident... If you take a look at these pictures, where you see a US Destroyer (USS Cassin, Mahan Class DD in 1944 fit) I used that model to make a workshop to the club fellow modelers on how to make the water... I got a little carried away and soon after making all those wakes and waves, I discovered that they were all wrong for that type of vessel (corroborated with a picture in Chattam's War At Sea 1939-1945). So, sanded all of that "sea" and discovered a nice effect on making a thick ice - not suitable for the WPG-75 Algonquin, but suitable for the Antartic Survey Ship Soya
It should be nice... in the middle of white and deep blue... an orange ship!
Looking forward to the start of this one
