Hi guys,
I was asking myself a question about one of the numerous dio ideas lying not so comfortably in my head.

*What ship (any time/nationality -the older the better) would bear some shark teeth paint/marking at the front*
I know some Fairmiles did, any others?..
thanks for viewing

Hi JB,
The first thing that comes to mind is American PT Boats in the Pacific.

Hi All,

I am reminded of the whale teeth along the sides of Melvilles's Pequod.

Best,
Eric

I had also seen pictures of patrol boats and monitors in Vietnam with teeth painted on them.

Hi JB

Not quite what you're after BUT there are two 1960s vintage speedboats currently operated out of Padstow (Cornwall) with very vivid shark teeth/ mouth markings across their bows.

These two speedboats provide very exhilarating pleasure trips out of Padstow habour during our summer.

Cheers

Karol

Thanks for your replies my friends
Gary, yes you are right, I suppose I could have think of Vospers and Elco, I will investigate! Jim, I will check too, those would certainly look good on a Pibber, and then i just reminded some picture of those huge hovercrafts with shark teeth.
Karol, it's been a long time! Thanks for telling about those, even if I doubt those ships would be gothic enough looking for my own dios
Stay Eric, call me Ishmael, that's something i didn't know, it's very interesting and I will surely investigate, thanks for the tip! (how many pages Moby Dick? oh dear..)

I've seen them painted on torpedoes at times. Mainly aircraft as they haave that nice tapered front end while ships are so much bigger and usually have the apearance of a massive bulk coming at you

I think there was an Italeri model of the B25 that i built when i was young with the shark teeth -just can't remember. But then much thanks for the torpedo tip Steve, i certainly didn't think about torpedoes!

I've always wanted to do a model of USS Von Steuben (SSBN 632).

I would find it very hard to reprimand that person with a straight face. Worse punishment I could give them would be to paint over it.

(Of course, I would have probably sketched it out for them. )

I am sure after the captain got done laughing he had it taken care of. Boomers are known for being straight laced types of people. Of course there are those odd balls who will do crazy things.
