Notice the wrench and a rubber drawn on the blue working jacket!
Where I stood many an hour on watch:

Very very cool pictures Dave.
They are great they remind me of the many I gathered and viewed for the Great White Fleet series. Obviously of a different era etc.
The black and white grainy images, the capture of time, atmosphere etc just wonderful.
Thanks very much for sharing.
Cheers
Sean

It's only a rumor that I lit off the SSTG's on the Ark.
Thanks for the laugh Steve.

Hi Dave!!
I almost didn't recognize you!! You're just a baby when you enlisted
Now I am going to check my own younger navy days photos - and make Alexandra laugh a lot!
Thanks for sharing Dave!

Great pictures Dave! I look at my pictures from basic and think "Oh my god! I look like I'm 12!"
And just how long did it take the Navy to corrupt you? The Army took about 10 days to ruin me.....
More like 72 hours...

Steve I can honestly say, my first boot camp liberty, I started upholding the finer Navy traditions of drinking, fighting and (AUTO-CENSORED BY ME!)

I fail to understand how they miss addressing that phenomenon during orientation at the reception center. The best we got was.."Don't get thrown into jail and if you do, hope that God will take mercy upon you and kills you before Top gets there." And then you're promptly busted to negative E1....
Oh those were the days.
