Well, as everyone can see, I have a bit to learn about posting photos. Below is the best I can do for now, a link to the hosted site. I'll work with this a bit later to actually post a photo here.

Hi Ernest!
I have issues with posting as well (at the Photobucket end), so I save up my pics and submit them as a feature.

Hi Karl, thanks for the feedback. I'll keep working to master the art of photo posting I guess!

Bismarck looks nice. Being as use to 1/700 as I am I sometimes get amazed just how big 1/350 ships get.
A monitor would be a nice addition to the campaign. I was hoping to get some non-battleships to join us. You don’t see a model monitor or armored cruiser very often.

Finished priming and general painting of the hull; it is good to be on leave when the weather is bad. It gives me more time for modelling!

Hi all!

Is anyone doing the Academy 1/350 Graf Spee? I have the premium edition which has all the turned barrels, brass and wood decks (!) in the box, and have been thinking of doing that. This looks like a good excuse to do so

I'll probably be doing the Trumpeter. It will be interesting to see the differences between the two kits.

I finally figured out how to post photos on site. I have completed installing the main deck. It is painted with a faded teak color sold by Lifecolor paints. The hull and deck have been given three coats of Future and the deck has also been given an oil wash to give it depth. I have also been working on the guns, and I will post some pictures a bit later.

I've finished the main guns, except for applying the matt coat that is. I used blue tack to make the blast bags. This was the first time I tried this technique and the results are acceptable if not great. I have also gotten quite a bit done on the superstructure and will post photos of that progress tomorrow.

A bit more progress to report. The superstructure is complete, and I am glad for it! All that remains is to gloss coat an weather it. I painted the white circles on the deck. I don't have a decal hakenkreuz in the right size so I ended up making a templete and painting them on. They turned out pretty average, but get the job done I suppose. I also painted the two Arado aircraft. Unfortunately I ended up with the dreaded "orange peel" effect for some reason - I'm not sure why as other items I painted that day turned out just fine. Fortunately, the scale is small enough it is not very noticable, unless one shoots a closeup photo that is!

Managed to make a very small start on HMS Roberts over the weekend. The quality of the casting is excellent, no warpage in the hull.
[
Above is a test fit of the major components. The only disappointmet for me iwht the kit is that the control top (not shown) is moulded as a solid lump. As the starfish support is included on the etched fret below, I intend to have a bash at scatchbuilding a new top, using the etched starfish & the roof of the resin top, (It is just making the window frames I haven't worked out yet.)

The only actual movement on the project has been to sparay the hull a base coat of light grey, prior to starting to line in the camo, and giving the deck a brush coat of dark grey.

Not much, but it is a start.
