Si – great progress! Where you get the figures? Very fine 40mm.. and got to page 3, congrats on the finish!

Jim – very nice… does the PE come with the kit? Good paint job.. .

Kenny – Good start; the kit looks like it has some nice detail molded in. My wife jokes that the area around my bench is the cleanest in the house… always sweeping around it looking for lost parts! How did you make the helo “halo”?

Steve – Interesting story and ship

Eugene – good start and kudos on the water-base! Congrats on the finish, cheers

Guido – great looking ship and kit, look forward to the rest! …. Or maybe not! : ) Problem with catching up with 3 months worth of campaign blog… Guido, I had some of those “life events” that cut down on, well, down time! Look forward to your fine work at some point in the future, cheers mate

Warren – very nicely done, congrats on the finish!

I should re-start my Samuel Adams in a couple weeks

Hi, guys!
Don't you worry 'bout me. I just got to tap the break a bit bench time and expenditure wise. I got involved in too many projects and campaign commitments now I need to cut back. So nothing serious like health or job or family problems; A luxury problem, as it seems! I need to concentrate on buildings things I intended to for a long time intsead of heading for every new territory.
Of cause I'll run my own campaign this summer, too. So you won't be rid of me, that for sure!
I'll keep on watching you, guys!
Cheers,
Guido

Good to hear Guido.

Some good news on the Buchanan front.. I found that Gold Medal Models produce a sheet of decals for US Navy numbers etc in 1/350 - 1/400 scale... They look good so I ordered two sets just in case.

I think i figured out what happened to the original numbers.. They came on the same decal sheet as the walkways. The walkways were used early in the project and I thought I put the numbers somewhere where they would not get damaged etc.. but I would say I threw it out by accident as they would have looked like just another sheet of blue decal paper. I am not proud to say that sometimes the hobby room floor can have quite a few of these pieces sitting on it and on the desk..

Live and learn...

Hi James,

The figures are a mix, mostly L'Arsenal resin figures, which are really nicely detailed & posed, but incredibly fragile, the rest are from the Fujumi IJN crew figures sets, a bit bland & chunky, but look ok painted.

JIm- Great Build

Kenny- I am following intently, nice masks you sent BTW now if I can only figure how to use em'

Simon I was going to ask the same about the figures, they ar nice.

Bill. the Pics I saw it looked like a great build.

James. cant wait to se her going again, I almost unloaded on you about BARCA, but since Chelsea screwed me royally
GO BARCA!!!

Steve. I too like the story behind your build I have started planning all my ships as to a story or somthing that has intrigued me. I really enjoy this new aspect of modelling over Jets.

Great work Everyone. the builds are great. I have a pretty cool Idea for a new GB that i think will cater to alot of modellers. But i will put it up later. But I will give you a peek, because It was my last ship I deployed on.

Got all morning to myself so got cracking with base and basic painting on Newcastle. When i was sanding the hull on the sub a little to vigorous it snapped and have had to fill it in with Milliput to give it some strenght but it should be OK

Deck grey and wake painted dry brushed the wake to high light the waves. The green on the sub is filler where the hull broke while sanding will leave to set for a couple of days before fine sanding and repaint

Nearly done I have use Gator Glue to add more depth to the waves and ship wakes with a little dry brush to create the whitewash over the bow of the sub. Alittle more touch up and all done

Very nice work everyone!!

I have neglected dropping in and checking the campaigns for a while, which I am sorry for. Too darn busy with everything.

But with that said, I do expect to receive some features on these finished builds!!

Greetings!

Last week I received the PC-461 (Commanders/ISW 1/350). I'm pretty sure I have next week "free" to build her. I know it's cutting it close to the deadline, but I'm determined to get her done.

There have been some great builds going on in this Campaign. Very inspirational! Guido, I'm very glad to hear all is well with you. It's always great to hear your input (and watch your builds!).

Hello Eugene,
Sorry about the late answer, this is the way I do it:
1) go to the gallery and write down the callsign's of themembers who have finished.
2) go to the campaign page and look for leader admid.
3) go down the list cheching off the call signs of the ones that have finished and at the bottom click save changes.( I always double check my awards)
4) I post the members callsigns in the threads so if some one who did ge done cane PM you and you can make sure his photo is in the gallery.
I am going to hold off locking the thread for 2 days,
I hope this helps you out,
Cheers,
Bruce
