On page 30 of the book it starts listing the Royal Navy escorts and the Flower class is number two on the list. Don't even have to stretch a point here, you're in!

Welcome to the campaign! Be sure to sign in!

Son of a gun! And a picture of a Corvette on page 31! Thanks for pointing that out. I've enlisted.

Liking the looks of thing so far, but there are a few folks we on the list we haven’t heard from. Do you guys have a plan for what you want to do, or are you just hanging out and waiting to see what’s available? Either way, no problem and welcome all!

By the way, I’m still teamed up with Sven doing an Israeli Centurion to his T-55. Not trying to get out of it, but I have a lot to juggle and if someone unaffiliated would like to do that Centurion instead, I’d be happy to make way.

Looking forward to the builds! Only a month and a half now!

Since we’re getting so close to the start, I figured it was time to decide where the official campaign thread should reside. We have participants from three sites, AeroScale, Armorama and ModelShipwrights and right now, of course, we’re running threads in all three places, which is kind of a pain to keep up with. I think it would be a lot easier if, come Jan. 1st, we close off all the “proposal” threads and concentrate the actual campaign thread in one place. It has also been suggested to me by the Lords of KitMaker (may their electronic impulses always run fast and clean!) that this is the best plan, three official campaign threads on three different sites just gets unmanageable. And besides, keeping the thread in one place makes it easier for all of us to see everyone else’s’ builds!

At this point, of the 33 official enlistees ( always room for more, by the way!) a little over half are from AeroScale, so I’m proposing that AeroScale forums host our thread and our gallery. Let us all know what you think over the next couple of days and I’ll ask to have it set up. Once that happens, I’ll close off these threads with a link to the new, official one.

By the way, there are still a few enlistees who haven’t indicated a choice of build or indeed introduced themselves. While I again reiterate that there’s no huge hurry (it’s a year long campaign), we’d love to hear who you are and what you’re thinking! There are also still some folks looking for partners, specifically:

Rob Storey/29Foxtrot: Camel vs. Dr.1 looking for partner on AeroScale
Emre/emroglan: Open to join a partner, air or armor on AeroScale
Sven/SHarjacek: T-55 looking for Centurion on Armorama
(right now I’m partnered with Sven but, since I’m doing my own pair as well, I’d be happy to step aside if someone else was interested.)

Anyway, it’s shaping up to be a great campaign, and I’m looking forward to getting started!

For the main thread I would use a network forum where everyone can see it with all the work of doing multiple threads. Maybe "Network Talk"

Jim,

I was under the impression that any campaign thread had to be on a recognized campaign forum, which the "network" doesn't have.

And we’re poised to start! I haven’t heard any particular preference from many of you as to where the official campaign thread should reside. Jim at ModelWarships suggests doing it in a KitMaker Network forum but I think we’re supposed to use an actual Campaign forum and the Network doesn’t have one of its own. So, since Pat agreed that AeroScale makes the most sense given that’s were the majority of participants are from, that’s where I’m going to put it (and yes, I’m aware I spelled “campaign” wrong. D’oh!). To go to the official thread, click here .

Don’t let what site it’s on limit your choice though! If you want to sign on with an armor or ship build, please do so, we welcome all!

So this is the last post in the individual proposal threads. Tomorrow, we begin!

OK, slight change of plans! It has now been suggested to me by Tomcat31 (Allen) of AeroScale that Jim was right (of course!) and the official campaign thread should be on a KitMaker forum. So the official official Osprey Duel Campaign thread will be on the KitMaker Network forum “Modeling In General”. Click here to go there. Please ignore my previous posting about the thread being on AeroScale.

I’m liking the network wide appeal of this campaign and hope we pick up even more enlistees to show what we can do. Hopefully, this will be the actual final post on this thread and we will move forward together on the new Official thread!

Michael
