Warren, I'm hardly surprised, but you have produced another triumph. Dang, I wish I thought that when I get done with my Gambier Bay she'll look even half as good as yours! You have the touch my friend, and obviously, the patience to go with the natural talent. You set a standard for the rest of us to try to match.

Thanks for that Bob.
I feel I copped out a bit with the rigging, but as I was taking the CVE off the shelf for these piccies I accidently scrapped that topaerial on the shelf above and it bent the PE and one of those tiny star aerials disappeared never to be found again. PE and wires outside the hull width would last only a short time at the moment so I will put the PE pieces aside and attempt the rigging after I can afford a display case for it.

Whoa, Warren, looks like a great build! Great work, looking forward to that feature!

Interesting to note that the double 40mm are more detailed than the DML items but the DML plastic parts are much finer. A combination of the two would probably be best...

Cheers!

Thanks for that guys.

@ Mark, maybe one day in the future the tiny aerial will turn up.. Only about 3 mm across.

@ Stefan, well, I have the USS Independence in the stash as well so we will have to see. I will endeavour to take the better photos next weekend. If only I had a good lighting setup and booth..
I have completed the packages I need for at least twenty more builds (PE, Deck and Barrels) but first I want to build the first ever Australian warship, the HMVS Cerberus, for the Dreadnoughts campaign. It is a resin kit and shouldn't take very long as the parts count is tiny. Many sprues in the GBay had more parts on them than the complete Cercerus..
