Thank you Julian. Coming from you that is praise indeed!
OK. I got the other side on the superstructure..

And here is Warren's patented Titanic funnel rigging rig, a slab of plywood and a few clamps..

I am using fly tying thread for the first time and it is marvellous stuff for this purpose.

Quite a bit of progress today fellow Shipwrighters...
First up I got the centre stack of decks cemented into place. Needed quite a few clamps and a fair bit of fiddling due to various locating tabs not lining up, but after a little strategic plastic removal it is in place. I backed up the liquid cement with some thin CA flowed into the joint between the hull and the side pieces.
Overall..

Front

Rear

Before that I finally got the funnels sewn into place, all excepting the rear funnel which has to go on some parts located on the centre deck that protude through the boat deck. The rear funnel is sitting in place with the rigging in place and when I finally get it cemented in place I will tension up the lines. I tied on some pieces of PE to the ends of those lines so they couldn't pull through.
Overall

No 1 funnel

No 2

No 3

and No 4

More later
Cheers
Warren

Great work there Warren! With all those clamps on she looks a lot like the real thing when she was being built, covered in scaffolding!

Thanks Russell.

Another quick update.
I put the upper deck in position and the front slotted in perfectly! Pity about the rest of it.. I have spent all morning clamping and glueing and am almost finished..

A veritable forest of clamps!
I have also been applying railings etc to other parts.

Possibly more pictures later.
Cheers

It's rather territying the amount of clamps needed here. You are still winning though Warren and she looks fantastic. The PE work is great, very fine

Yes Julian it was interesting..
Anyhow, one more update before the final splurge of photos..
The lifeboats and their PE davits are in place

The rear bridge minus the wheel

All the rigging bar the radio aerial is in place and I will trim it tomorrow after the CA has a chance to fully cure.

Overall view

And the Tamiya 1/350 IJN Tone in the background had been reduced $50 at the local LHS yesterday. I couldn't resist... Pity the pot of Humbrol paint I also purchased had gone hard and I had to take it back this morning...
Hopefully the Titanic will be finished in the next few days. Then the delicious job of choosing what to build next begins.
Cheers for now

Hello everyone.
It is still missing the big radio aerial but I am not sure if the masts will take the weight. I will make it today when I can get to my jig without waking the whole house up by having to move cars etc. I am using the jig that came with my 1/100 HMS Victory to make the ratlines. Should work fine for this aerial.

There endeth the story of Warren' Titanic Adventure. I left the props and anchors in the glorious glod plating cause I could..
Over and out until the aerial is done,
And you wanna hear something weird, I would love to build another one right now to fix all the mistakes I made with this one.. Sad eh..
Cheers

Magnificent build Warren, done at the usual Inman hi-speed. The only thing missing are Leonardo Carpaccio and the bird with the big Bristols, (I forget het her name), standing on the railing near the bow.
You tempted me to buy this model and I very nearly succumbed.
You have done an excellent job,
cheers,
Julian

It is worth the price if you can get it around the $70 mark for the centenary edition. Don't bother with the Windows PE as 90% are hidden in the end anyway..
Cheers Julian
